Cowboy up at the Flea

Since we were snapping photos of vendor stuff we HAD to stop here and take a few:

The fellow who had the spot, pulled out these boots for us..his "Good Ones". We set them up and kept on shooting!

Then we wandered back to the trailer and talked to him. He was called D.R. and he played and sang the good "oldies" of country..Willie, Waylon, and the boys..had a great voice too..Karen said if he'd play Patsy Cline she'd sing with him. So, he pulled out a guitar for her to join along, and started up...

We set there with D.R. for over an hour, it was great! We had fun, he had fun and we met a new friend...

K and I got our Cowboy fix. Hope you did too.

The booth owner brought these babies out for us to snap..he thought they would be a good shot..

New Etsy goodies

I've added a couple of little charms to my Etsy, they are One inch wide by One and one half inch long..so not too large..good for a bracelet of small necklace charm:

Oh my~

I am not proficient on photo programs such as Photo shop...but my son is! I gave him a couple of those photos I took last weekend and then posted here..Look at the pop he put into my shots!

This is just what I had in mind when I was taking these...getting the colors darker and the greens more acid...I love it..He did good~ He's been learning things and reading magazines on what to do and such..I just don't have the 'room' on this old puter to add a new program like that..so for now I'll just have to ask favors and hope he dotes on his dear old mom..

I'm currently working on a commissioned charm for a good friend..she has an awesome photo of her mom and dad 'back in the day' ..all yummy and vintage, just what I love~ I'll show you when it's all done and delivered.. I have acquired some most awesome Frozen Charlotte dolls, I'm making up shrines for..the first one I've finished, went to a friend 'down South'..and the second one, I had to keep for myself..and now I'm ready to finish some up for Etsy..so be on the look out for their debut soon..Big, Chunky, Vintage!!!

Soldered House Swap

Been working today on that...looking thru photos, working on them, getting it just right..

Then finding background papers, words and such...

These two children are my Mother and one of her brothers. They are the first 2 out of 5.. I love the look on their faces...kinda lost, sweet and her coat, I love her coat...This had to be in the 30's ..

I can see my Mammaw fussing over them and getting their hair just so..even licking down a piece whtat wouldn't lay straight..you've done that haven't you? licked down a bit of your child's hair that refused to do as it should? I know I have..

Got a bit of it done..but not finished yet, by a long shot..

House Swap

My flickr friend Heather and I are swapping House Charms...it all started last week, when I posted some of mine on my flickr site. She posted back to me that she had some waiting to be soldered on her work table..

She posted hers the other day and I loved what she had made..so we decided to swap a house with each other..and to add to the fun, we are just sending each other one. Neither of us know which one we will receive..how fun is that? Hers went in the mail today! I have had more fun meeting people on flickr and blogs that have the same intrestes and such..but why do they have to be soooo far away??? So far no one close as in the same county...

I've added 4 more to my Etsy shop:

I'm enamored with that boy with the cocked hat~ I just had to use him then found what I thought was the perfect line for him....The 50's lady with the glasses came out of a Pillsbury cook-off book...The 2 brothers house, is another that I just love the faces on these fellows...Then there are my two little street urchin girls..I just had to use them again..they are together in this one, I've been cutting them apart, they were not happy being apart..so they got to be in a house together this time.

I have to be drawn to these photos before I even use them...they must speak to me some way. Are you like that with things? Faces and eyes..love eyes..eyes on people, eyes on animals, eyes on dolls...eyes say alot...

Tuesday shots

Lately I've been a solder'n Fool..what can I put in between glass?? this came to me the other night while laying in bed wide awake..

Tuesday'ed out

Yesterday I played with some of the cool effects on my photo program.. Hope you had a good Labor day, whether you labored or played...I labored..

Today was a ceiling(s) of clouds..didn't finish, but the looking up and working over my head finished me off...called it quits and hub is taking me out for dinner, so I don't have to cook ! Can't beat that..with a stick~

Still no photos

He forgot...again....

But here's what I pulled out of my travel bag...I'm alway picking up things when we make stops..the smashed caps came from various C-stores where we stopped to get gas..the wheel thing I found in Telegraph Texas..the pull tabs were found at Lover's Leap in Junction Texas and the little hook was at Llano when we stopped for lunch at Cooper's BBQ..

Hub said what are you going to do with that trash? I told him it was not going to be trash much longer...

I picked up these babies for 1/2 price at WM...can't go wrong with $2.50 flowers that look this good...and they are still looking beautiful~

I did an awesome piece yesterday afternoon, but I can't show you that yet, it's for the Wizard of Oz swap I'm in...But I like it and I hope my partner does..I was in the mood to paint, and paint I did, all afternoon! Finished it up with some glitter...can't wait to show you~

I'm going up there today to see how bad it looks...we saw alot of small fires still burning last night when the sun went down....

Paper Cowgirl is going well, we've almost reached our goal of students! Teachers are gathering up goodies for class and we are going to send out some awesome welcome kits to those who attend! Thanks to all of you who have signed up, we are going to have a Texas sized time!!!

Amoung other things forgotten this trip, I forgot my camera, but did take some photos with my phone...next week I'll post a couple of pictures of the awesome fireplace mantel I distressed.. and how I turned lemons into Lemonaide!
