New Classes at the Crafty Scrapper

After Brainstorming the other night(did you smell the smoke???), I came up with these samples for a new class:

We will be creating with Alcohol Inks, stamps and other goodies to make these wonderful pendants. I will show you a watercolor look, a stone look and a tye dye look.

Dates to be announced soon! Check their Site. Thanks Carolyn, Sherri and the gals for having me there at the store!!

Here is another Solder class at the Crafty Scrapper too:

Hope to see you soon!

On the work table

In between doing 'life' I've been able to squeeze in some time at the work table. Here is what's currently in line to be soldered:

This is the sample of my Intermediate class at the Crafty Scrapper. We will have it sometime in July. I'm using black quite often in my work..wonder what's up with that? I do know I Like the 'pop' it brings to the vintage colors. In the class you will learn to bead solder and attach to pieces. The attachment will be strong enough for wearables. This piece is larger, like the one we will be doing in Paper Cowgirl. Gives you more solder area and a larger bit of collage.

This one I'm having a hard time letting go of it....

I've acquired a few Frozen Charlotte Dolls, I've been making little shrines for them to live out the rest of their lives in. This one is about 2 inches tall and the box is about 3" so it's substantial. I am going to suspend it from a tube of glitter. It's going to look very 'arty' when I'm done. These little shrines have been filling up my mind lately..but, now the muse has struck, and I'm wanting to paint again!!

This time BIG..paint on our Doors in the Shop Shack..you know, I painted one to look like the Texas Flag.

Well, this time I've got ideas for the door that leads into the shop from the house..you'll just have to wait to see..I've not started it yet, but it's gellin' in my mind, and from what I see so far, it's going to look super cool.. I'm so glad my hub likes me being 'arty' ....

We are headed to the flea this weekend. Maybe some cool finds and photos to show you next week!!

Have a great Weekend!!

Here's a few of their finished charms..everyone did very well, and I had several tell me that they are going to do more! What wonderful news, I've planted a seed~

Thanks again for coming to class! Wait until you see the samples I'm working on this week for an advaced class there at the Crafty Scrapper this summer!! It's going to be awesome!!
Paper Cowgirl is filling up nicely,
we are going to start some give-aways on the teachers blogs,

Paper Cowgirl Class

Here is the project I will be teaching at Paper Cowgirl June 26th. We will be doing collage , doodles, and shading on our art. Then we will encase it in glass.

The base is 2x3 and the top is another piece approx 2 inches tall at the tip by 3 inches wide at the base.

We will learn to attach to separate glass pieces, and add a jump ring, for this wall ornament.

The kit will include everything to make this , various sizes of images, vintage paper and other goodies you can use to make it your own... You will not have to cut the glass, I'll have that already done for you!
Sign ups are going well and we are not full, but do have one class getting near full!
Hope your Tuesday is wondermus!

Packing up

A little here, a little there..stuff it in a sack, grab this, grab that...that's what I've been up to this last couple of days..

Going to Waxahachie this weekend to teach at the Crafty Scrapper. Teach a microscope slide soldered charm class. We are going to do similar to this:

I have images of pin up cowgirls, glamorous ladies and some vintage corset ads, and even some of my vintage images for the students to choose from...I've made up some cool little class packets, gathered supplies and solder irons..so hopefully we'll have a fun 3 hours on Saturday!

Do you remember my Paper Mojo blog?

Well, that name didn't set well with a paper company by the same name, so, I had to change my blog name since I was the 'little guy'...That blog I had over 150 entrys on, this one is getting close to 200! I see that and it amazes me..I'm not one to write in a journal or diary, but I don't seem to mind writing my thoughts where everyone and GOD can see it...I wonder why that is?

Paper Cowgirl sign ups are going strong! We have one class close to being sold out!! We are humbled and amazed at the response! Thank you all for choosing to come to our gathering of artists! What are the rest of you waiting on????come join our fun, Vendor night is a hoot...

Happy Tuesday!

Never did tell ya about

How my teaching gig went..

I had a bit of a freak out right before sitting up..But with Cindy there she calmed me down, handed my can of clothes pins to me and sent me in... I looked at those things for hours before and never even moved them, but when the time came I couldn't find the freaking things!!!!

So, started class by handing out our class kits: yep, they were in a coffee to go cups..Everyone loved it..passed out the 'lost' clothes pins, Popsicle sticks and instructions..All seemed well..explained what we were using and that the crystals were called: Onion Skins, because they are THIN..so be CAREFUL...We had at least 4 busted ones..from over zealous burnishing..but that's OK..live and learn..I had packed replacements just in case...lol..
Everyone seemed to understand my hand outs, that's a good thing.. I gave everyone 6 images to choose from and several sayings all printed out and ready to use..
I loved how every one's was so different but yet the same..it was great..We had one burn..after being told which end was the hot end..but some ice on it and she was good to go.. I did redo a few of the globs of solder on some of them and put on a bunch of jump rings..that's the toughest part of the whole thing.. Fixed some mistakes and answered some questions..but that's what class is for..to learn what not to do and how to fix it if you do mess something up..right??
And BOOM, times over, every one's cleaning up...and I think I inspired some to do some soldering of charms on their own! Now that makes me happy, to give inspiration to others!!
Hope you enjoyed it if you were in my class..Hope to see you there next year if all goes well!!
Thanks again for the support and kind words!!
Have a great weekend!

I'm home...

And tired and my head is full of great memories~

Cindy and I say that Paper Cowgirl was a success! We hope that all of you that attended did too..

We started the day with Dale..this gal is a little fire cracker! Her head was ready to explode by the time time day was over..full of ideas, fun and it was great to meet her and be in her company. Her good friend Lori came with her and she was a pleasure too! Thanks Dale swapping with me and buying some of my goodies on vendor night!!!
We had lunch break after her class...
Then hit the afternoon with Jan her class had everyone making banners and getting glitter all over!! I have to say Jan is one of a kind..we had great laughs and good times..Thanks Jan for being there and that great roller skate piece I got from you at Vendor night!! Big hugs!
Next class of the day was from Joanna, but Brook taught it..Brook is a pleasure to have as a teacher! Our Altered Bingo card was a fun class..(that is the only one I was able to sit down and do) Thanks Brook for being there and keep all those rowdy cowgirls in line!!! It was great!
Then it was Ms. Sharon's turn! She brought her art and knowledge as only Sharon can! We drooled on 4 large canvases of Sisters and then began on class..All the gals in the class did a great job of painting a face in Sharon's magical style!! They walked away from that class knowing that they CAN paint, and Paint a FACE which to me knowledge is power!! Way to go Ladies!! Thanks Sharon for giving us a piece of your knowledge and friendship!! Big Hugs to YOU!!! I'm so glad I stopped that day in Marlin to visit with you..this would have never happened!!!
After a bit of a break it was MY turn to teach...I was a bit nervous and couldn't find some of my things..but Cindy calmed me down and sent me in.. We did our soldering class in about 2 hours and had only one injury~ even after I showed them which end was the hot end of the soldering iron~Most everyone turned out with a lovely pendant and no burn digits and several told me they were going to go try this at home...that is what a teacher loves to hear, that you have inspired someone enough to go out and do it again!!!
Thanks all you gals for being in my class!!
Thanks to the Crafty Scrapper shop in Waxahachie for being our host!
Thanks all you gals for helping Cindy and I make this work!!
Tomorrow is my Bday, so there will be a give away and my 1 year blog Bday was on Saturday~ so come back and see what I have planned~
hugs,t
