Flea Shots

More rusty chairs!!! I think I now have a fetish about them...

I Love old tubs, wish I could buy all the ones I find!

Love this vine covered wall:

This necklace was at the right place at the right time, the light was shining so nicely across it..

There are still more!! Son is "photoshopping" some of them for me, so they will be along later...

Cowboy up at the Flea

Since we were snapping photos of vendor stuff we HAD to stop here and take a few:

The fellow who had the spot, pulled out these boots for us..his "Good Ones". We set them up and kept on shooting!

Then we wandered back to the trailer and talked to him. He was called D.R. and he played and sang the good "oldies" of country..Willie, Waylon, and the boys..had a great voice too..Karen said if he'd play Patsy Cline she'd sing with him. So, he pulled out a guitar for her to join along, and started up...

We set there with D.R. for over an hour, it was great! We had fun, he had fun and we met a new friend...

K and I got our Cowboy fix. Hope you did too.

Happy Thursday!

Flea Shots

We headed out to the flea this weekend. It was held in Weatherford, Texas. Known as First Monday, we have been to this one a number of times over the years. Our friends Greg and Karen invited us to go with them. We had a great time. Karen told me that this flea had been going on since the 1800's. Karen is an amazing photographer, she and I got some great shots, she shared some tips with me and we discussed alot of things on Saturday and just had a great time. The guys waited for us several times during the day, while we shot away at some of the goods the vendors had, or haggled over prices..They did their own haggling and searching too.

This is just a few shots to whet your whistle:

More later!!

A gentle reminder about Paper Cowgirl, the give away is still going on so check out all the teacher's blogs!

Happy Monday!

On the work table

In between doing 'life' I've been able to squeeze in some time at the work table. Here is what's currently in line to be soldered:

This is the sample of my Intermediate class at the Crafty Scrapper. We will have it sometime in July. I'm using black quite often in my work..wonder what's up with that? I do know I Like the 'pop' it brings to the vintage colors. In the class you will learn to bead solder and attach to pieces. The attachment will be strong enough for wearables. This piece is larger, like the one we will be doing in Paper Cowgirl. Gives you more solder area and a larger bit of collage.

This one I'm having a hard time letting go of it....

I've acquired a few Frozen Charlotte Dolls, I've been making little shrines for them to live out the rest of their lives in. This one is about 2 inches tall and the box is about 3" so it's substantial. I am going to suspend it from a tube of glitter. It's going to look very 'arty' when I'm done. These little shrines have been filling up my mind lately..but, now the muse has struck, and I'm wanting to paint again!!

This time BIG..paint on our Doors in the Shop Shack..you know, I painted one to look like the Texas Flag.

Well, this time I've got ideas for the door that leads into the shop from the house..you'll just have to wait to see..I've not started it yet, but it's gellin' in my mind, and from what I see so far, it's going to look super cool.. I'm so glad my hub likes me being 'arty' ....

We are headed to the flea this weekend. Maybe some cool finds and photos to show you next week!!

Have a great Weekend!!

Happy Friday!!

Look at this sunrise we were witness to the other day!

The clouds were constantly changing colors and I couldn't help but watch..then hub said you need to take a picture of this..I ran back in put down the coffee cup and grabbed the camera..snapped away..it was well worth the freezing toes on the cold cement..

God makes some beautiful art, doesn't He??

Still soldering away..this one is for a swap Buddie..the theme is: Winter Time blues..she's a cat lover..I found this old photo and then colored in with pencils..I think she's going to like it..

These little tid-bit I'm calling : Affirmation charms..they are one word charms...

As you can see they are small and dainty great for a necklace or bracelet. I've added a few to my Etsy, but have more to add..

Here is another little shrine necklace...I love this Star surrounded by barbed wire..I made the box part look all worn old...I think it goes well with the art inside! It will be added to Etsy soon.
Paper Cowgirl is coming along!

We now have all the teachers lined up and are working on the schedules and info to post on the blog. I've been adding little sneak peeks to it when I can, so hop over and check it out!
As last year, we are offering a Paper Cowgirl Charm to the first 10 to register. This year's charm will be totally different from last years..I'm in the process of designing those too..

Hope your weekend is full and fun..we are planning to go to a swap meet..hub's idea..I'm taking the camera along..

Coming and going

We've been all over the place the last few days..Austin, College Station, Wichita Falls, Bowie....

The Scoob when with us on the 'down South' trip..he was a good traveler and was always willing to hang out the window when it was open..

Sunday we headed to the flea in Bowie Texas, it's called Second Monday..it was hot! Let me tell you that~

After taking these photos, I put the camera in the bag and took on some serious shopping..Didn't find any goodies to alter though..but did find some goodies for the house..We picked up a Huge Huge Tim Cox print in an amazing frame..I've seen these in the stores for over 500$..got it for waaay less..that went in our bedroom..found some old licenses plates, we are going to use them as a kick plate on the screen door..found some galvanized stars for the walls, and local honey, hot sauce and peaches. Ate an amazing Chicken Fried steak for lunch then headed home..I'll be going back there...
We've got over 20 signed up for Paper Cowgirl! Come join our fun!! I was hoping to find goodies for vendor night, at the flea market..but not this time..I do have some canning jars full of goodies and packets of ephemera gathered up!
Hope your Monday is good..
