Paper Cowgirl Class

Here is the project I will be teaching at Paper Cowgirl June 26th. We will be doing collage , doodles, and shading on our art. Then we will encase it in glass.

The base is 2x3 and the top is another piece approx 2 inches tall at the tip by 3 inches wide at the base.

We will learn to attach to separate glass pieces, and add a jump ring, for this wall ornament.

The kit will include everything to make this , various sizes of images, vintage paper and other goodies you can use to make it your own... You will not have to cut the glass, I'll have that already done for you!
Sign ups are going well and we are not full, but do have one class getting near full!
Hope your Tuesday is wondermus!

Paper Cowgirly stuff

Here is my class project for the Paper Cowgirl Altered Art Retreat in June:

They are on the larger end of things, about 5 inches to the tip of the roof..would be a CHUNKY necklace or a great Ornament.. I will provide all the stuff but the rub ons in the class kits..
And if you wanted, you could even bring a wallet sized photo of someone you love to make it personalize on the back side..

I'll have the goodies but the rub-on for this side too.. Won't this be fun?? I've had alot of fun putting it together for class..and the kits, well, I set the bar high last year. If you didn't make it, the kits were in to-go coffee cups with a cute Cowgirl image on it all with brown papers and such..my thinking cap is on, to make this one as fun~
I hope your checking the Paper Cowgirl blog..for I'm posting things to entice you at odd times everyday this week!! Sign ups begin at midnight on the 1st....Class sizes are limited..
***Next Saturday the 7th is my soldering class at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, TX...if you get a chance, come by and see us! We are going to have a good time! Thanks again to Sherri for scheduling me!! ***
off to do more PC goodness!

Quickie, no fun and Friends

Here are two of the gals, that are in the soldered house swap with me...neither wanted their faces showing..they are no fun..about taking pictures, anyway..

We had a quickie lesson on glass cutting and soldering while I was in their neck of the woods..I keep reminding them it's all due March 31st..

These are what I gave them, when we all got together.. Sherri's in the one on the left and Cindy's on the right..and I'm not telling you what snarky saying was on the back...
While I was there, we set up a soldering class for me to teach at the Crafty Scrapper, so if you in the area, come and solder up some charms with us!!
Have a Blessed day!!

Soldered goodness

This one is not for the swap, but something I made for me....

The image is of my mom. She was about 3 or 4...but I'm thinkin' I might use this in my swap houses..whatcha' think??

Then this is what came out of the: GLASS GONE BAD post that was last week..

Andreea should be getting them in the mail anyday now...The piece on the left is from that badly broken glass I posted..then the piece on the right, is a piece of glass I found on the dirt road the other day. I believe it's a vintage bottle of somekind. There is writing on it,but I'm unable to decipher the words..it's thick and chunky and small, just like Andreea likes her jewlery~ enjoy my friend!

We are having that here in the Wright household...Hub is out on a rented bulldozer digging a tank (or a pond as it's called in other parts of the country) I'm in the house just hanging out with Grand #1 who opted to stay with us instead of going home with her family....

I wanted to let you know, I'm offering NO SHIPPING charges on ALL my house charms until Dec 6th in my ETSY store..

Hope your recovering from your Holiday and all is well in your little part of the world!
Have a great weekend!!

Busy day..

But, I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels..did get some household chores done and finished up 2 more little houses..

This one I'm going to keep..it was all cut 'wanky' so I had to do some extra soldering to it. I like how it turned out..but, it's not good enough to put on Etsy...

This one is telling me it needs to go to someone..but has not told me who..so I'm sure it will get put in the mail in the next day or so..just like another one did today..
But the photo of that one came out blurry and it's already out in the big black mail box..so you won't get to see it..dang it..oh well, my BFF since 1st grade is getting it..she reads here sometimes,, so maybe it's a good thing I can't show it..wouldn't be a surprise then, would it?
Here is the "married" table top and bottom:

We are going to keep stuff off of it for another few days so the finish has plenty of time to cure, but we had to bring it in the shop shack to see how it will look..we love it..hub did a good job, didn't he? and he beat his 20 day deadline too! Brownie Points~
Thanks and hugs to all of you who have included us in your prayers, they are working but we've not see complete "daylight" yet on the subject at hand with our son, so please continue..
Have a good Tuesday..

I went more Christian themed on these two and plan to do more..

I put the Trailer Trash sign on Etsy along with these 2 ornaments today..
The man can door is finished and I'll show you Monday..it should be back up and in all it's glory by then..
Have a good weekend..

House Swap

My flickr friend Heather and I are swapping House Charms...it all started last week, when I posted some of mine on my flickr site. She posted back to me that she had some waiting to be soldered on her work table..

She posted hers the other day and I loved what she had made..so we decided to swap a house with each other..and to add to the fun, we are just sending each other one. Neither of us know which one we will receive..how fun is that? Hers went in the mail today! I have had more fun meeting people on flickr and blogs that have the same intrestes and such..but why do they have to be soooo far away??? So far no one close as in the same county...
I've added 4 more to my Etsy shop:
I'm enamored with that boy with the cocked hat~ I just had to use him then found what I thought was the perfect line for him....The 50's lady with the glasses came out of a Pillsbury cook-off book...The 2 brothers house, is another that I just love the faces on these fellows...Then there are my two little street urchin girls..I just had to use them again..they are together in this one, I've been cutting them apart, they were not happy being apart..so they got to be in a house together this time.
I have to be drawn to these photos before I even use them...they must speak to me some way. Are you like that with things? Faces and eyes..love eyes..eyes on people, eyes on animals, eyes on dolls...eyes say alot...
Happy Hump Day~

Happy Halloween!

Tricks or treats???

I decided to re-cover the bar stools, here is the before..

Here is the after:
These were going to be thrown out at a house I was fauxing at..so I took them, knowing we were going to have a bar here in the Shop Shack..so we hung on to them for months..cause you can't beat free...and that cowgirl fabric I've had for awhile now..don't even remember what I was going to do with it to begin with..but now it's covering those purple bar stool seats..hub likes, I like it, we are happy...but I have to do something with that brass ring..that's next~
Look at this little girl:

She looks so melancholy...I found this sentence in a child's reader and had to use it with her.. These are small charm sized houses..wanky and prim..I love them..did up 4 for Etsy.. one has a pug dog on it !
Don't eat too much sugar~

PS: the mouse is gone..not by his own accord..I'll just leave it at that..

Beee Verrwe Verrwe quite.....

We are hunting mices.......He's worried and worried..watched and sniffed and shook with anticipation when he would hear movement back there.....we moved the fridge, and it was holed up in the motor area..then between he and hub they flushed it out..right to the stove..it high tailed it with Scooby hot on it's tail to under the stove.. he missed it by a hair...and we've not seen it since..even with the vigilant watching/cruising by, every few minutes...more on this saga as it unfolds..stay tuned...

I did these up today...they'll be on Etsy one day soon...

The sunflower image is one I took it at a friend's garden 2 summers ago... Then the 'dude' Cowgirl is off of an old map I bought on a trip..isn't it a hoot??

Then I about wet my pants over these two:

I freaking LOVE them!!!! using up scrap from the little shrine glass I have to cut, I made these..they are about 3 inches maybe 4 tall..the background paper is old Deeds, I got a whole gallon zip lock full of them at a sale..they are OLD..from the 1900's to the 30's..Then the words came out of an old school book~ LOVE them!! did I say that already?? I think I'll put hangers on them, and they can be ornies or even a charm on a necklace..I may not even give them up..but who knows..I have started some larger versions, again with scraps of glass..those will be ornaments for sure..

Have a happy Wednesday!
