Make your own tool..

Michelle Ward is great inspiration. If you have not looked at her blog, you need too..she may not be your style but she is full of wonderful ideas and things to use in your own works..she has a whole line of cool rubber stamps too..

Awhile back on one of her "challenges", she wanted you to make a tool you needed in your art work..whether it be a stamp, stencil, resist or block..I did that one..and had great fun making rubber stamps with my hand drawn images..so today that came back to me..

I have an idea for a new line of charms..and I wanted a name to set them apart from anything I do or anyone else..But I knew I didn't have the computer skills or program to make that something up that I had in my mind..But! I can draw it out...I can Carve! it away..I did have some lino left and time to make that idea in my head...
So after a few tries and some tweaking here and there..Some carving, and cleaning, and inking..I came up with what was inside my head:

I'm quite happy with the results!

I think it will all jell and come together in the next couple of weeks and I'll show you the whole she-bang~But for now..that's all you get..hope you are inspired to do something like this..to make your tool, to find an alternative.

Have a great Thursday!

More walking

Yesterday, Blogger wouldn't let me upload..so here are some more of our walks:

This one has had NO tinkering..the sky looked that blue thru the lens..it was great..I just wished I'd taken my other lens, the bird would have been clearer and closer..next time..

This is on a gate, I love it:
All weather worn and was used a reflector on the gate...
This is my favorite fence post..lol..

All knotty and weathered and gnarly, just standing there, doing it's job holding up the fence that holds in, right now, 6 yearlings. They run every time we walk near..it's funny to watch them. They watch us to a certain point then turn tail and beat it...you would think they would be used to us, but not yet, I suppose.
I want to try to capture some of the birds we see..we flush a covey of quail almost every time we walk...they are usually in one of two places...the first time scared the bejeebies out of me..now I wait for it to happen when I get close and if it doesn't, I'm disappointed..We see hawks, field larks, sparrows, wrens..
Have a great day!

My daily walk

I've been trying to walk everyday if the weather is ok..
We got out and walked, it was chilly and a bit windy but we made it..and added extra, since I was toting the camera..Scooby is my walking Buddie..he loves to sniff out things and goes bounding into the weeds until he disappears..

This day as we walked I was whining to myself how I never find any heart shaped rocks..you know, like you see on other blogs..
I find stuff like this:

It was a big honking piece of broken glass, I put it in my pocket for future project..then I hadn't walked another 5 minutes and spied this one:

All this time..and there was one, I left it where it was..Sage and I look for heart shapes when we are gathering cool rocks..there are always cool rocks at Nana's house..either in the road, driveway or dirt..we find them, she cleans them, and adds them to a jar we have in the shop...
Here's the great hunter, catching up to me on the last bit to the house..he doesn't let me get to far away...

Now back to Christmas Decorating...
later,
