My daily walk

I've been trying to walk everyday if the weather is ok..
We got out and walked, it was chilly and a bit windy but we made it..and added extra, since I was toting the camera..Scooby is my walking Buddie..he loves to sniff out things and goes bounding into the weeds until he disappears..

This day as we walked I was whining to myself how I never find any heart shaped rocks..you know, like you see on other blogs..
I find stuff like this:

It was a big honking piece of broken glass, I put it in my pocket for future project..then I hadn't walked another 5 minutes and spied this one:

All this time..and there was one, I left it where it was..Sage and I look for heart shapes when we are gathering cool rocks..there are always cool rocks at Nana's house..either in the road, driveway or dirt..we find them, she cleans them, and adds them to a jar we have in the shop...
Here's the great hunter, catching up to me on the last bit to the house..he doesn't let me get to far away...

Now back to Christmas Decorating...

Soldering is out of hand..

Or maybe it's not..Here is a Large piece I put up on Etsy last week...She's on a base from reclaimed Scrabble game board..and it just gets better from there..A few months ago, our friend in Oklahoma, gave me 2 large bags full of old farm ledgers/receipts his aunt had kept..every day they wrote down what came in and what went out..well that's the next layer.. a page from one of the ledger books...

Real Monarch butterfly wings make this gal rock..we found them in the grass last month..I think they fell off the gril of SIL's truck..so, I didn't hurt anything for the sake of art..ok?? Just giving found objects new life...

Then after more doing and dading..I covered it all in a piece of glass and soldered it all up..I patina'ed the solder, mixed two colors *can you do that????* well, I did and it look all old and grungy or even as my pal Cindy sez: Grotty~

This weekend the #1 grand came over and we all went to the Red River to ride the 4 wheeler and the Razor...Scooby went too..I strapped him on behind me on the 4 wheeler and we just tooled around like old people while hub and grand zoomed and zipped and slung sand on us..They ended up getting extremely muddy and loved every minute of it..

Again, if I can ask for prayers for out son Deke, seems he's having some probs. with all, he's been through..he needs Jesus to give him a hand up and out of this..he's reached some dark spot in his mind and we are unable to reach him..it's breaking our hearts..and we are praying as hard as we can, so I think it's time to send in the warriors..so we'd appreciate it..
thanks so much blog friends!

Durty fun

We got a load of dirt/sand last week and Big Daddy couldn't wait for the girls to come over and play

They made caves in the soft sand, then told Scooby there was a mouse in there:
Giggling and laughing at him as he threw out sand and dug and dug..Then he came out and look at them like : "You don't know what you are talking about"
They tried that trick again, but this time he got smart and decided to take advantage of the coolness...

He looks like a possum in there..
I took photos of all of them playing and ended up shooting over 200 photos with very few getting deleted..we had fun..they were dirty from head to toe and it was a fun day!
happy monday!

Still waiting...

Heard his toenails go in and out of the bedroom at least a million times last night..If I'd made him a bed in the kitchen I'm sure he'd camped out in there...still no mouse..it's in there..he hears it.. I think~

Loaded these on Etsy yesterday, I added a soldered charm to this one and hanging it from a larger ball chain..I like it...

This is a larger version of yesterday's smaller ones..I've kept one of those and listed the other one..so if your interested...

Happy Sunday!

HOpe your HOlidAy WeEkenD has been a GoOd oNe!

I decided to drive home on Wednesday. Drove straight thru from Phoenix to Wichita Falls! Pheew...what a trip..it was 15 hours! So, I recovered on Thursday...Friday we went to a fish fry at a good friend's house! What made it extra special is that Soldier Son was able to attend! We had our whole family there among all the friends that are like family to us! It was great for us all to be together. Since Soldier son was in Iraq last year... So, please continue to keep those Soldiers in your prayers and Let's keep GOD in our country.

Here's all the goodies I hauled away from Mystic Paper:

Is that bird paper not YUMMY?? I should have bought more..I am using this as backgrounds!! I picked up some goodies that are not found around here and hope to put them to good use, tons of ideas flying around in my head now! Jennifer had a necklace I'd love to create..I should have taken a photo of it! Those bird stamps were too good to pass up, I know where I'm using them too!! Crowns were brought back too, and some of those are going to be soldered on some charm ideas I have too!

I had tons of mail to open after being gone for 10 days!

This box from Sherry was in, our Cowgirl Swap! Look at this cool bag she sent me:

And these tags were just wonderful!!
Thanks Sherry!! Loved ALL of the goodies!!!
