Makings of a kit

Using Inspiration from Michelle Ward, my Class kits came together...
I have an Altered Domino Class on Saturday at the Crafty Scrapper, there are still seats available if you are not busy...

To make my kits, I used some card stock ( that I have had tons of ) For the base...Dug around in the shop and found some spray paints (which the colors were not what I had in mind, but I wanted to use what was on hand)...Stencils...and opened the doors and started to spray away...

When it was all said and done, I had put about 5 layers of paint on the card stock..some of it was just speckles, but you know, sometimes those little details make the biggest pop..

Here are the kits all packed up and ready for class..I hope they like them~

Hope to see you there!

Happy Anniversary to my hub...today is 27 years for us..ILY~
See you on Monday!

A little Late~

But better late than never, right???!!!

The winner on the domino post is : Diane, another Texas gal!! Thanks for the comments ya'll it was great fun to see who wanted a chance at this little thing..
Thanks for Coming to see me here!

Class in Waxahachie went very well, those gals are soldering up a storm!! We did the round charms, where you float the solder across the backside. They did it like there was nuttin' to it..I was so proud of them!! yea!!! Thanks for coming to my class ya'll !

Since I was there soooo late in the day, I took advantage of it and spent the night with my good fren Cindy..The next day we went 'teeking' at a store in Mansfield..there were some super awesome booths there..and here are a few of my finds :

Don't you love the hair and the peter pan collars on the girls??? I smell a retro themed collage in the works...don't you???

And look at these old wooden Chess pieces!!!!!!!!Cee scoffed at me for picking them up, but....after I rattled off a few ideas that popped into my head, she decided she would 'buy' few from me..

And then we forgot to get some out for her when we got back to her house...lol...

I had to have those tins for some reason..and that brass cow tag, I've been wanting one, what better than Lucky Number Seven???

This was a surprise in the mail the other day:

My friend Linda in MI, found this cool box and knew I had to have it! She's such a sweetie, to think of me like that.. not only was it an very cool box, she filled it up too!

Is that not cool or what??? THANK YOU Linda for all the wonderful goodies!!! ThANK YOU Cee for the sleep over and the fun we had!!
See ya'll tomorrow!!

Excitment over something 'old'

I have not used alcohol inks at all..nope, nada, nothing... I bought several colors to experiment on some Dominoes for that class...and boy ,let me tell you..I have fell in love!!!!

Many of you may have been using them on your dominoes or papers and such..so this is OLD news to you... wow!! I have been missing out on all the fun..I have used some of my faux finish techniques with them and all I can say is: THIS STUFF ROCKS!!

I've altered dominoes before:

But not like this!

I love the depth and texture of this!! Making it look like real stone and then all the colors...I am blown away...I want to do my floors with this stuff!! Can I buy gallons of it??? That is how much I love it!
So, I know this upcomming class is going to rock! I want to see what my students come up with....

Ya'll have a great Tuesday :)

I'm working on Charms for the first 10 gals who signed up for Paper Cowgirl!!

Michelle Ward moment

We are about to embark on a MC trip for a long weekend...so down at the local WM I picked up a couple more white long sleeve T's for Hub and I...Even though it's Hellish weather, we still have to wear long sleeves some days to protect our skin from the sun and the drying wind while on the Harleys..you would not believe the way moisture is sucked out of your body while rolling down the highways at 70! So, every little bit of protection helps.

I couldn't leave my T just plain ol vanilla white...so I had an *ah ha* moment and thought of spay paint and stencils...Michelle Ward is the queen of spraying things! So I took the cue from her and went to make some magic on my T:

After doing a couple of light coats of flat black on it..what did you expect? pink? Comeonpeople..this is for a Harley trip, I have to keep up my biker image..hehehee

I let the paint dry for about 15 minutes, then popped it in the washer with some other stuff and look how awesomely(is that a word?? ) faded it came out!! I love it!! Looks old and well worn!

Then after some in town business yesterday, I got to play in the studio while the paint dried on some samples and look what I turned out:

These durn things are so much fun! I hope I can find something to do with them...

Ya'll know the RAK I showed you yesterday? Well, I'm passing it on and my RAK to someone is going out in the mail today!!

We are hitting the highway for the next few days, so no 'puter till we get back home..Ya'll be good and if you can't be good at least have fun! Hub and I are!

later gator,

Wednesday's finds

While some folks slaved away today, I went to the thrift store..and boy did I find some goodies!!

Look at this cool little souvenir tray:

I'm going to display charms at it during Vendor Night at Paper Cowgirl!

I have no brown dominoes and had to get these even though there were only a dozen of them...

Then, these bring back memories....

My Granny Pack dipped snuff, and my grandpa Joe(my dad's parents) had a ruler like this, that I would get in trouble every time I played with it...He died when I was in K, she died when I was in 4th grade, they were married like in 1901 or something like that..for my mom has photos of their 65th Wedding Aniv, before I was born in 1965!!!

These were all in one little bag for a buck!

And last but not least, my favorite find of the day:

this camera bag caught my eye as I walked in the door, the customs stickers all over it and the great patina on the leather and brass latches...who can resist?? I think it would make a great purse! but not for me...I will just admire it for awhile in the studio..

We are going to an Aggie Graduation this week. 2 of our 'younger' friends are graduating and they asked us to join their families! thought that was really nice to be included..so if you don't hear from me, we are off in Aggieland...

have a great day!

Envision...

Willie Nelson in his pigtails and bandanna...singing "On the Road Again"...that's going to be me..

Here's the story and I'm stickin' to it: Soldier Son calls us yesterday, his exhaust brackets broke on his NEW, did you see the NEW part? bike...so we go up to Oklahoma to get him and the broke bike...He's to be back on base this am..didn't happen...he's got another couple of days now to get back up there to Kansas...

This Dealership in Wichita Falls, Red River Harley Davidson, are being ASSES about doing warranty work on this, so after a few calls to the exhaust place, and the dealership that he bought the bike from they have an answer...So, guess what? MOM is going to take the broke bike back to College Station Texas to the dealership there, who were great about the whole thing, I might add...and leave it there to get all fixed up...So, if you are passing thru and need something at the HD shop in CS tell them that Tina sent you in..they'll know who your talking about..(she rides an 06 Deluxe and used to live there..)

Looks like brite and early tomorrow I'll be headed out in the Big Ass truck pulling the broke bike on the trailer...so if you don't hear from me in a few days send out the search party..

Today, is the last of the dominoes I had finished before my trip..the one on the left with the yellow flowers is sold..but if your interested the others are for sale..just give me a hollar..10bux. free shipping..

We are starting a blog about the retreat, it's at: http://papercowgirl.blogspot.com/ no work on it yet, but that's fixin' to change...yeehaw...

outta here..t
