On the work table

Here's what's on my work table: These are TINY~ One inch by One and a half inch..
Each one cut and embellished separately. They are for a soldered charm swap..The background for each is a page torn from a time book that is over 70 years old. A bit of egg display image was used in each background and each one has some type of swirl on it..and each has the initial of the recipients on it.

This is only ONE side of the charm..the other will be one of my photographs... So, if your in the swap, here it's a sneaky peak..If not..I may have some similar on my Etsy soon. That is much neglected at them moment~
We woke up to fog here in the prairie this morning..it's a bit odd to see it in the middle of summer..and the weather stick is pointing down, so that means more rain for the day. I hope it's correct on it's prediction~
I read this and thought it a bit funny, see what you think:
Number of guys who, like Tim Taylor, have asked a neighbor for advice over the fence: 1 in 4.
Number who say the advice was lousy: 1 in 5.
What do you think about those numbers?? I thought it was a riot~ that came from Men's Heath Mag, btw~
Fall Paper Cowgirl sign ups are under way~ Check it out~
Hope your Tuesday is a slow ride~ enjoy the trip!

Party with Friends!

Last week while in B/CS, I rounded up a couple of friends to have a little party..well, one of them was actually the hostest..for it was her house..I just brought the fun..

The gals had their own photos and such to use, but I had all the glass and solder goodies..Plus, Andreea brought us a pasta lunch! It was super Yummy..after we ate, we got busy..

Collages, glue, glitter, dog slobber (don't ask) and lots of talking and sharing ideas..

I did up this one and a few other for my Etsy shop:

YT put these together using her fur babies:

Andreea put these together and even made a couple of gifts:
We had way too much fun, being together, making things, soldering, and talking about anything and everything...The afternoon went by way to fast.. Thanks gals for the fun!!
Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Monday!!

Look what we woke up to on Saturday!

I've wanted snow..all winter..and we got a tiny bit of it..that was it too..here today and gone today..

This is what I've been working on for a friend. I love this old photo. You can't tell here, but the shirt has been colored in Pink! I used pencils, colored the shirt and the road..The word Love came from an old typing book from the 30's..The back is cool too..but I'm saving that for her~

While the solder iron was hot, I finished up these little houses. They will go on Etsy soon..
This little banner was another thing I soldered up..It's tiny..

I've been on a bird kick too..
Don't forget our Paper Cowgirl blog Trail ride!! I'm posting my give-away tomorrow..so ride along with us for some Cowgirl fun!!
Have a super day!

First Manic Art Moment of the New Year

We have had the girls over since Wednesday...and I've not much time to do what I had on my list..so instead of working on some soldering, I got all wound up in this:

Last night when they were out in the shop flying paper airplanes with Big Daddy.

I needed to be working on these:
The Cross box is for a friend and the other is going into Etsy when I get it all finished..

So, it's official..the first Manic Art Moment of 2009 has hit!

Have a great weekend!

another Manic Art moment..

Interrupts Christmas Decorating.....

I won 2 sets of anagram letters off Ebay last week and they came in the mail..well! I had to do something with them..

After getting them out of the box and fondling them, I was struck with an idea...so, putting all other things aside..good thing dinner was already finished and dishes in the washer....I hurried off to my stash, found this great book cover for a background and it went from there...These letters were so worn there was no paint on some of the letters..so they had to be 'doctored' up a bit..

I even used my new Sidekick, that I've had since my B-day...this jewel thing was in a jar full of junk jewelry..was the perfect touch..

Then the glitter fairy hit me:

My fren Cindy has been showing off all her new houses on her blog, so I had to do up these two that have been sitting around since January of last year naked..

Even found a couple of trees and some tiny wreaths to decorate them with..of coarse, hers are all pink and fru-fru goodness..and mine are more a bit in the 'tropical' color range..some unknown reason Aqua and Red was in my head...
Please remember our troops serving over seas at this time of year..you would not believe how many of them do not hardly ever receive anything from home..it's really sad..My son had 2 guys in his unit over in Iraq last year, that only received things WE sent them and nothing from their families..How tough is that???Especially during the Holidays..if you go over to Any Soldier.com they can fix you up and you can pick male or female or even what Branch..so please take time to fill up a Priority box for someone serving our country this Christmas Season..I am and also sending to a few of Soldier son's friends...hope you do too..
Now back to decorating...
Have a great Wed..

Thank YOU

Thank you for all the comments on the Birthdy/Aniv. post, that was Monday!

I gave everyone a number starting with the first post of the day as number one....

Then used one of those number.org places to pick 2 winners...

The first winner of the small collage and show leftover goodies is: Paula Clare!

The second winner of the Home Collage is: Jody of Just Jody blog!

Thanks again to everyone for leaving a message!! Ladies, I'll be getting in touch with you!

This is my favorite glue right now:

It has stuck everything from leather to paper to glitter to paper for me the last few days!! I love it and it was not too expensive at WallyMart...

I've been working on this little cutie for a few days when I have the time..it's for my Not So Secret Pal:

It's on the back side of a Scrabble game board..I love using these as backgrounds...

Then, look at this:

Can you guess what it is? I'll tell you Monday!
Have a great weekend!!!

Big Daddy Cantelope

He's already married, to me! These little babies have been coming out of the garden lately!

If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that yesterday I got nothing done in the studio.
I worked out in the shop all day, it was 110 degrees yesterday..what a day to work in a tin building....But, I'd made up my mind and was going to consolidate all the boxes from our move, LAST YeAr...We have boxes of stuff I don't want to use in the shop shack. But, I'm going to use when we get the real house built, so it's going to have to stay in boxes and the boxes have to go somewhere..and right now they are in the middle of freaking huge shop and there is not any room for anything else. So I pushed, pulled, dollied, and emptied boxes and re-stacked boxes in a corner, now we have more open space.
It didn't seem hot until I found a thermometer and hung it up, eeeewww shouldn't have done that..I got the biggest part of it done, it was hot, I was dirty, but it got accomplished. For the most part.
Big Daddy was impressed with my work when he came home..he even went out there after dinner and did his own work...but it was too hot~to do much more..Then the buttermilk pie was ready and we both had to eat a piece of that while it was still hot! yummy..I'd not made a buttermilk pie in along time, it was good~

Other than Paper Cowgirl stuff, this is on my table in the studio waiting on me:
This is a big version of what I've done on the dominoes...I did a faux finish to the background..collaged on the papers, painted the goodies and shadowed it... I would say it's about 12x8, it still needs something, and so far it's not let me know what that something is....

These 2 pictures are on a Formica sample:

That's copper on the back, I'm not happy with that, and rub-ons are still giving me fits..I'm happy with the front..

Thanks Shannon for letting me know about my spelling error yesterday :) as you said, I'm not a COLLEGE prof...lol..you can see I do COLLAGE alot more than I did college..lol..

Andreea! Don't forget about our challenge!!!remember??

Errands and cement work are on today agenda. The rest of the week the Grands are visiting..

Thanks for all the fun comments on yesterday's post! I love my faux work, and I'm glad I can do something that makes me happy and pays the bills!

Ya'll be good today!
