my messy life

Here is my work table at the moment..an explosion has occurred...I hate when that happens.

Here is some of the reason for the mess:

Soldered bottles for vendor night at Paper Cowgirl!

Soldered goodness all in a convenient bottle..some are for looks and some can still be used..

Upcycling, recycling, altering, decorating..what ever you want to call it..I've done it to these bottles. Some still need patina added to them..If you've not tried your hand at this, you need to, it's fun and challenging~

Tuesday Stuff

Today, I'm working on a bunch of things at once, it makes you life feel hectic when that goes on doesn't? We are wrapping up the scheduling of Paper Cowgirl and getting the teachers all in order..Just 2 more weeks until sign ups!! Cindy and I are excited!! Vendor night is going to have a theme too this year!!

This small piece popped up one night:
You can't see the dimension to it, but the thing is layered, so in person the mermaids are farther away from the ship and it gives it some good depth..It's 2x3 and I found the image on Flickr of an old postcard, I covered up the writing on the top area with rub-ons and the words from an old book..Later I added some chain that has a green chip stone on it..very 'islandy' to me..

And these goodies, I won off Ebay:
They may become pendants or they may grace the tops of some old bottles..who knows at this point..
Thanks for all the new Titter followers and thanks for going to my Etsy and checking out my new things..I have some small pebbles in the works..one word small pendants that will be showing up soon..
Ta-ta for now..

Trying my hand

Altered bottles seem to be all the rage here in blogland..don't know if they are anyplace else..but, thought I'd try my hand at some. I had some old bottles and then I found some more at Wally's for under 2 bux for 3 and they seemed a good size, just no tops or corks.

I had a whole bag of findings, I got several of them a couple of years ago at a store called Friendze, in the 'grab bag' clearence bin.. I've used some of them on my altered cabinet cards..
Then it hit me to use them on these bottle tops..so that's what I've been doing.

"Welding" them together with flux and solder to become massive tops for these bottles..

I plan to put them on Etsy one day, but don't know when..if you are intrested in any of them give me a little shout and we can fix you up..if not, they are fun to do and I found some more bottles that are really small and may make 'pendants' out of them..wouldn't that be fun??
Have a super Tuesday!
