Potty Flying

First off let me correct my spelling: Stephanie at Doojies not Doodies...Sorry Stephanie...my fingers were faster than my brain yesterday it seems...

As you know all week the grands have been here...well the 2 year old is potty training and doing very well...we go very often as you know you have to do..well the other day she was setting there, and spread her arms out and started flapping her chubby 2 year old hands up and down at the wrist..she looks up at me and says: "Nana, I'm flying...I'm Potty Flying..." That's a new one to me! Loved it and had to share it with ya~ Out of the mouth of Babes...



Yesterday while Grace was napping Sage and I played in the studio:




This one I tried something different for the base, an old game board..I think a scrabble one would be better...Those durn canvases are expensive! I can get them at Dick Blick Art for cheaper than Michaels or Hobby Lobby but then I have to wait on them to come in..I want instant gratification~

The saying on this one comes from a Rober Earl Keen song, he's a Texas artist..and this song is a great sing along one...


Speaking of Michaels I used a 50% off coupon and picked up a book I have been lusting after:
Altered! art projects by Jill Haglund ...I love it..it's got some aswesome works from Deb Trotter and the likes in there... And at Michaels they have the Somerset Studios Gallery that I'm in..and I wanted to take it up to people and say: I'm IN this!! but I didn't...

Next week, I'm doing a faux job, so I won't have all this studio time...oh well, gotta pay the bills.

Swap goodies are starting to arrive!!

Stephanie at Doodies was one of my 3 partners...I ended up with 3 but hey, that's ok..3 times the fun..Here's what Stephanie sent me in all its cowgirlishness




Love the funky hat, all mine are just plain ol' cowgirl hats..nothing funky like this one!!
This flocked bird fit right in with all my goodies in the studio!


THis IS HUGE!! love the altered WALL clock! Vintage figs. inside that are just wonderful!! Stephanie, your the bestest!! the tag says: "Mamma's don't let your babies grow up to be cowgirl, let them be dr's and CRACK HOES and such" Love that~ your as twisted as me..lol. it's hanging on the wall in the Studio !!

Finished up this one and put it on Flickr(I'm CollageMojo there) last night..finished up 2 more later after wee ones were in bed..and started TWO more..I'm tellin' ya..I'm on a roll...I'm into these HUGE images and making them fill up the canvas, I'm going crazy with the printer on this one..It's those Cowgirls, I tell ya..they did it to me..

Wind here on the Praire

eeewww, weee...it's windy today out here...The girls are aobout to blow away while outside playing! Since it's getting hot in the afternoons we play outside in the mornings then play inside after lunch..Yesterday I made frames for 2 of the Cowgirl swap collage Canvases while they got dirty..Today I'm just going to hang out and watch them get dirty..may have to run after them to catch them from the wind..it's gusty...piglet and poo come to mind..blustery day...

Yesterday I added 4 spoon/nests to my Collage Mojo Gallery, so if your interested go peek over..



My Cowgirl Swaps are going out in the mail ...hope yours are too..deadline for mail out is June 10th...

Wait till you see what I have on my worktable!! Some awesome ideas have been popping in my head and out of my hands..Tomorrow I'll have a peek at it for ya~

We are still working on a Texas retreat in October in the Metroplex area..so email me if you are interested in joing us, I'll teach a solder class, Sharon is going to teach us a transfer class and a couple of others are lined up for the weekend..looks like fun!!!

What were you doing at 4am?

I was in the studio this morning...


I couldn't sleep and just decided to get up and piddle around..so I cleaned on some things I soldered last night after the girls when to bed...



And finished shining on this little goodie:

Don't know if I'm going to attempt wings like this again on a shrine...This makes them heavy...I think I'm going to keep this one..first attempt and all...I have to find me a chain for it down at the local 'bling-bling' store..you know, those little stores that have the purses, jewlery that's cheap and girl stuff...they have some necklaces that are like rosary chains jacked up on bling and look great on the little shrines....

By the time I finished reading the paper from yesterday and looking at the pre-dawn, I crawled back in bed for a snuggle with the hub before the alarm went off..then the girls were up by 7:00 and our day was going..

Hub's garden is on the rage... he's taking the neighbors squash and radishes...we are eating squash almost every meal, and last night I broke down and made quick bread to use some more of it up..the Okra is about to start too..wonder if I can use it in quick bread...hmmm...

Found out from my friend Liz that the spoon with the curled edge is an Aspic Spoon..kewl...Thanks Liz!
